About Daniel C Murray

Daniel was born at Loth Sutherlandshie  on the 27th December 1850. He made over 50 violins and a few viola's mostly model of Joseph Guarneri, with only a few on Stradivari. The varnish is usually yellow or dark brown.

About the Violin

​

The Violin signed Daniel Murray and dated 1895.  Varnished in oil and with a golden light brown ground. The back being made from two piece maple with matching ribs and neck. The front is one piece spruce. Fully setup and ready to play.

The Sound

​

This violin has plenty of power in projection and good tone. Nice and even on all strings. 

 

Condition

​

This violin has been repaired in the past at some point being stable and sound. There are no cracks or repaired cracks.
