A Interesting violin by an Unknown maker Circa 1900s
The oil varnish is very fine and the lightest of crackle is covering this fine and well figured two piece flamed back. The back and front are set off by very striking hand inlaid purfling, very black purfling with the bee stings nicely done.
The two piece front is spruce and has a nice even grain structure with no repairs or cracks. Internally the instrument is fully blocked and lined as you would expect from a quality violin.
The violin plays very well and is responsive and powerful, and would blend into any playing environment. The violin is even across all strings and resonant. A lovely warm and rich tone.
Please see photos of flamed back and matching ribs by clicking on the photo on the left.
This fine violin has been set-up with quality ebony fittings, a professionally cut bridge and Pirastro Tonica strings. This handmade Violin being in first class condition.
